distinct style remarkable art
F. A. Q.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I help people remember special experiences in an enduring and endearing way.
You know how when you go on an amazing vacation?
You take a lot of pictures, maybe bring home some souvenirs, or maybe buy a piece of art while you're out there.
The thing is, at some point we stop looking at the pictures (because they're digital), in a photo book (eventually getting shelved), or maybe one makes it into a frame. The novelty of souvenirs will probably wear off.
Well, I take everything that matters most to you about that trip, the places you went, the songs that you danced to, etc. and layer it into a piece of art that you hang and see everyday, giving you the opportunity to re-live the best parts of your vacation everyday.
It makes for a great conversation piece. But that's just one example.
Remember when you received the most beautiful flowers from someone you love but they slowly faded? I also create art inspired by that bouquet, adding elements relevant to the occasion to give your art special meaning.
I listen to your story. I feel your story. And then I put your story onto canvas in my unique artistic way.
WHAT IS YOUR "UNIQUE ARTISTIC WAY"?
I specialize in mixed media and oils. When creating a piece for someone or for myself, I use layers of color, musical note sheets, specific textures and papers, and other things to represent the nuances and intangible influences. It all comes together in a piece of art that is in alignment with my clients' style.
WHAT KIND OF "IMPORTANT MOMENTS" DO YOU CREATE ART FOR?
I help people savor simple, yet meaningful moments such as vacation memories or special occasion floral bouquets, but really anything that is important enough to you that you want to keep enjoying the feeling.
One of my favorites was the story behind this trio.
I also help businesses, pocket locales, and communities accentuate their unique values through art, like Taliesin West, Desert Dream.
WHY DO YOU INCORPORATE NATURE INTO YOUR WORK?
When I'm surrounded by nature, I feel more grounded, calm and often experience a sense of one-ness with the world around me. I recognize specific elements of a particular place and translate them onto canvas in a remarkable way that allows others to see and feel that connection to nature as well.
DO YOU ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING SPECIFIC TO WORK WITH IN A PLACE?
I find value in most everything. I don't always connect to it though. When traveling, I've found that I see more clearly and deeply without the distraction of crowds. That is why I prefer off-the-beaten-path places and to visit during off-peak times, it helps me connect.
DO YOU CREATE ART FROM EVERY PLACE YOU'VE BEEN?
No, I do not. I see a lot of places and I appreciate something in each of them, but I only create art from the places that resonate with me. If I don't feel it deeply and clearly, I will not force it.
DO YOU TRAVEL TO ANY TOWN OR PLACE OF INTEREST?
Pretty much, yes, IF I am able. One of my passions is to help bring attention to off-the-beaten-path places to help promote their tourism so that their community may continue to thrive.
DO YOU ACCEPT COMMISSIONS FROM INDIVIDUALS?
Yes, IF it's a good fit for both of us.
