Jenny King was a relatively late bloomer in the art world, taking her first art class at the age of 27. Aside from a couple of initial art classes, she is virtually self-taught, having honed her skills over the years. Now that she has found her niche, her work is emerging around the country.
Using oil as her medium, Jenny manipulates vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes to enhance and exaggerate light and shadows in her paintings.
She began experimenting with mixed media, as well as encaustic paints in 2010. "I have found an exciting, new way to express myself. I love the entire process. The end results are amazing & incredibly unique."
Prior to opening her own working studio on the charming & historic Marietta Square in 2009, Jenny showed & sold paintings at local art festivals, shops, offices, restaurants & galleries. Her vision for the studio is to create a comfortable, relaxed, fun atmosphere where she and other artists may support & inspire each other, all while offering an eclectic collection of fine art to the public. Her studio hosts a designated "friends' wall" so that she may support the local artists' movement on the Square as well.
